The Emissions Trading System – putting a price on carbon

200x60

European Commission production: “The EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) is a world first and a major weapon in Europe’s fight against climate change. The innovative system has turned carbon dioxide emissions into a tradeable commodity. They can now be bought and sold like any other of the thousands of products traded on world markets today. The scheme works by placing a limit or a ‘cap’ on the amount of carbon dioxide participating installations – currently around 10500 across the European Union – can emit every year. If an installation emits more than its allowance, it must either pay a very hefty fine or buy surplus allowances from companies that have managed to stay below their limit. The system ensures that overall CO2 emissions from the plants covered are cut in the most cost effective way. The video report shows: Factories and sources of CO2 emissions Renewable energies’ systems ABN-Amro trading floor Pernis’ Shell oil refinery (Europe’s biggest oil refinery) DSM chemical plant Interviews with key figures including: Tomas Wyns, Climate Action Network Europe Jos Delbeke, Director for Climate Change & Air, DG Environment, European Commission Sara StÃ¥hl, European Climate Exchange Gerhard Mulder, ABN-Amro Annemarie van der Rest, Shell Marc van Doorn, DSM Julia Williams-Jacobse, Dutch Environment Ministry Dr. Bert Metz, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.”

Something I’m positive of is that the President can’t know that the use of hydrogen by electrolysis has recently been perfected to conclusively produce completely thorough internal combustion engine performance in avarage gasoline and diesel engines using platinized titanium-based hydrogen generators, easily retrofitted to any vehicle with such type of engine. This is the way to turn heads at the Copenhagen summit, with hard science and proven testing by NASA back in the early Seventies.

Carbon trading is a huge scam to make profits for traders (e.g. Goldman Sachs). It has not reduced emissions at all.

    Putting a Price on Carbon
    perhaps has surrogate pricing:
    x.carbon.credits x 14 = y.Euros
this week including: Dec 16, 2009

Smartphone apps. can contribute to carbon capture/reduction.
Will they get carbon credits from topic authorities?

    How apply/nominate?
    …for example outline at
    tinyUrl’s ‘copenhagen-chatter’ or yer6gpp

ETS seems like a big tax grab for me. cos it fails to address our energy needs. Instead of not only taxing heavy pollutor why cant UN rally resource of the world d oserious research into zero emission technologies; power generations. Surely we cant be that hopless. But it seems the gas company has gotten hold of our political systems making it unable or unwilling to go there cos it wouldnt please the gas company. to make ETS credible both sides of the coin must be tackled

@IRepairLaptops That doesn’t change them. They just charge more for their services to the client like Duke Energy is starting to do now. I’ve got the bills to prove it.
They then buy carbon credits and just keep going on. Require them to reduce their production, then they must raise the rates because the rich like blubbering obese Gore keeps using all the energy like it’s infinite for him. But his “conscience is clear” because he just buys carbon credits that just helps his company.

@ausfarmer89 The counter argument is that there is feed that produces less methane from their flatulence. The problem is, What is the increase on the cost of this amazing new “feed?” What is it made of? Is it really proper nutrition for the cows? What is the result long term? What happens when natural resources decrease but price of living keeps increasing for constantly longer living population?
How many adipose cells does Al Gore feed while his flatulates his methane gas?

@MRMILO57 From dictionary: TAX: 1) to assess or determine judicially the amount of, to levy a tax on, to enter on a list, charge, accuse, to make onerous and rigorous demands on. 2) a charge usu. money imposed by authority on persons or property for public persons, a sum levied on persons or property to defray expenses, a heavy demand. Nothing about government.

@ozzycriss It actually is just climate change because the warming has always been mainly in the Northern Hemisphere. But the increase of its standard deviation pulls the overall mean up by what is now about .8 degrees C over the last 150 years increase.
We’ve been arguing it’s climate change, not GLOBAL warming, for years. They finally caught up.

Dr Miskolczi showed that the solution to a differential equation for the greenhouse effect developed in 1922 by Arthur Milne, wrongly assumed an infinitely thick atmosphere. In re-solving this equation a new term and also a new law of physics have been proposed setting an upper limit to the greenhouse effect. Dr Miskolczis theory indicates that any warming from elevated atmospheric carbon dioxide will eventually be offset by a change in atmospheric moisture content

This scheme is perhaps the biggest hoax ever pulled off by any individual, government, , banksters and more than likely a combination of all to rip wealth from citizens worldwide.
These fraudesters who dreamed up this scam through grant inspired scientists producing fake statistics should be exposed, tried and locked up for a very long time to reflect on their greedy manipulation.

I took a science class in 1974 and learned that the REAL threat is called Nuclear Winter. So, if it warms up too much, and you need to cool down, all you have to do is blow up some nuclear warheads in the desert, and there you go, problem solved. Nobody wants to talk about this because it is not politically correct to talk about blowing up nukes for the sake of the planet.

Carbon Credits are at 1 Euro now… Since there was a loophole in the EU Carbon Credits – it has flooded the Chicago Climate Exchange… So carbons that were $7-$8 is now about $1-$1.40 a Carbon Credit…. So Carbon Credits are generally not feasible.. Industry gets Carbon Futures on the cheap and are laughing with their wallets getting bigger.
